Job description
- Management of major international multi-party projects.
- Set and communicate overall project strategy, to ensure compliance with customer requirements, maximization of project margins, most effective use of engineering resources
- Timely execution of assigned projects and all matters commercial, technical and schedule
- Formal contract review and acceptance. Responsible, via the project team, for the identification and resolution of discrepancies between order and quotation, technical compliance and agreed schedule.
- All aspects of customer interface including contract and commercial negotiations, progress reporting, change control, issue resolution etc.
- Setting overall project budgets. Monitor, control and report expenditure within budget parameters and authority limits, look for continual improvements.
- Overall responsibility for performance of the engineering team, including completion of a project “wrap up” reviews, and Team performance evaluation.
- Formal acceptance by the customer
- Overall management of the Document control, Archiving and Project “close-out” activities
- Close liaison with Service Management to ensure smooth transfer of projects into the field
- Be aware of the development of existing and new Invensys hardware, software products and engineering support products.
- Keep abreast of industry trends in technology, engineering methodology and design tools.
- Work closely with sales personnel as part of the proposal team in selling situations in order to ensure a smooth project transition from direct sales into Project Engineering
- To comply with Health and Safety guidelines and work in accordance with Company/Department Quality procedures
- Identification of improvements within the Projects Group.
- Report monthly on activities in agreed format
Requirements
- HND or equivalent level in Electronic (Control Engineering). Good command of English language. Thorough knowledge of Company products. Driving license.
- Desirable: Degree in Electronic/Control Engineering. Formal commercial and business training.
- Essential: 5 years project management experience, including large projects and contracts.
- 10 years in project related engineering role, ideally in the process control industry.
- Proven commercial and contractual skills, utilised in direct client facing and Engineering contractor-facing role.
- Good communication skills & team leadership
- Initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances
- Ability to quickly analyse a situation & make positive decisions or recommendations
- Take a high degree of responsibility and work under pressure
- Sound knowledge of automation control systems technologies
- Knowledge of project management methods & support systems
- Proven experience in Senior Project Manager or equivalent level.

For this position preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case expatriate candidates are selected, it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy
