Nigeria LNG Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company on May 17, 1989, to harness Nigeria's vast natural gas resources and produce Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) for export. The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary, Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) Limited, which provides shipping services for NLNG and Nigeria LNG Ship Manning Limited which provides personnel for all of NLNG’s Vessels. Our LNG is delivered to ports in cities around the world.

Job Title: Senior Fleet Trainer and Auditor

Job Location: Bonny

The Job:
The appointee will be required to initiate, develop, maintain and implement effective Systems and procedures for training shipping and shipboard personnel and for auditing NLNG Shipping and Marine assets / companies for continuous improvement.

The Duties:
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop, maintain and implement protocol for internal audit of Shipping Division and BGT vessels.
Develop, plan and Implement NLNG Shipping audit plans, follow up progress and provide initiatives to management on audit recommendations
Conduct periodic Ship Management Audit Review (SMAR) of BGT vessels by sailing onboard the vessel for life assessment of the process onboard
Carry out onboard assessment/appraisal of personnel including mandatory STCW readiness assessment, when so required, and report as instructed
Conduct Fleet training onboard BGT vessels for crew and officers on the vessels
Monitor technology developments in navigational, engineering and safety standards and provide analysis and trend to SD Management and Fleet Managers
Prepare and implement a documented process for onboard training of officers and crew in Navigation, Engineering and safety matters on BGT Fleet reporting the outcome to the Crew and Fleet Manager

Qualification/Experience
The right candidate should:

Possess a Class 1 (Deck or Engine officer) certificate of competency
Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in shipboard operations of which 2 years actual sea service must have been served in a senior position.
Not be more than 40 years old as at 31st December, 2014.
