ENGINEERING JOB VACANCY IN NIGERIA IN A POWER PRODUCING COMPANY 26, JULY 2011
An independent power producing company seeks the services of a competent and resourceful
JOB TITLE: PROJECT ENGINEER
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design of electrical installation
- Prepare technical specifications for capital projects
- Develop project budget and schedule
- Assist in packaging and solicitation of bids
- When requested, assist operations and maintenance department in the trouble shooting of unexpected technical problems
- Write reports, agenda items, and perform engineering analysis
- Evaluate new technology and products that improve the efficiency of operations and infrastructure
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned based on the needs of the organization
REQUIRED KNOWLWEDGE
- Must process knowledge, skills and abilities in the followings:
- Develop clear, complete and accurate engineering specifications, drawings and estimates within established time lines.
- Discuss and identify project problems, analyze situations, recommend solutions an d evaluate outcomes.
- Communicate effectively, both written and orally, within the organization and with outside agency representatives at all skills levels, position levels and backgrounds.
- Interpret , reviews and approve design submits, including drawings, descriptions and schematics.
- Make field and site inspections for problem investigation and contract compliance
- Solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions,
- Engineering principles, theory and practices relating to design, specifications, writing and estimating
- National electrical codes, as applied to power distribution
- Issuing RFQs to suppliers and evaluating responses from suppliers
- Experience with diesel and gas reciprocating engine based generators and power generations projects will be a plus.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE(S):
- Possess a minimum of Bachelor of Engineering (B. Engineering) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years experience in consultancy services.
- Must be university, with a minimum of 10 years experience in consultancy services, must be a member of NSE and COREN registered.
