Gobel Marine Services Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company in March 2011 and commenced business as a Marine and Shipping Company in the maritime sector of Nigerian economy in May 2013. We currently operate with three oil chemical tankers namely MT Adeline, MT Emmanuel and MT Princess Oge with a total carrying capacity of over 50,000 Metric Tonnes. Our target is to grow this fleet through the acquisition of more vessels.

We pride ourselves as unique Shipping Company. This is premised on the fact that apart from rendering the usual freight services, Gobel Marine Services Limited provides Agency services for shipping companies and other principals. Our ships are efficiently run on day-to-day basis by our reputable Technical Managers and personnel who are instrumental to our reputation for customer satisfaction, professionalism and integrity.

Our head office is situated in Lagos but we have Representatives and Agents in all Major Ports in Nigeria and the West Africa to cater for the needs of our customers.

Gobel Marine Services Limited is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Supercargo

Job Location: Nigeria

The Job

  • Protect the interest of the company throughout vessel journey.
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on cargo from load port to destination port

Qualification/Experience

  • Degree (minimum OND) in Maritime studies, Nautical science or related Logistics management or Degree from a recognized Maritime Academy (Captains A-Class Diploma or Captains B-class diploma).
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience as Supercargo and or Marine Surveyor
  • Basic Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping (STCW) Certificates
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
  • Basic survival techniques training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cargo documentation (Bill of lading, Mate’s receipts, hatch list, etc.)
  • Experience including cargo stow, ballasting, stow plans, stability, budgeting operating costs for cargo activities
  • Proficient in cargo calculations

Ability to swim

  • Knowledge of the applicable industry Maritime regulations.
