Oxfam is a world-wide development organization that mobilizes the power of people against poverty. Oxfam is seeking a Media Lead (Nigeria Emergency) Our program is focused on economic livelihood, gender justice, govemance and humanitarian work with a stronger focus on influencing the power dynamics that create poverty and inequality.

Oxfam is expanding its humanitarian response and advocacy capacity, and an Abuja-based media lead is required to complement this effort. The primary goal for this position is to increase the public profile of this crisis intemationally, in order to mobilize donors and build public awareness.

TEAM PURPOSE: To deliver Oxfam’s strategic and operational emergency/resilient food security and livelihood priorities in Nigeria and ensure innovative and quality programme which is shared within Nigeria, the West Africa Region and beyond.

JOB PURPOSE:

Drivers will be responsible for the management of logistics and transportation of both project personnel and goods within and outside the project areas. These officers will also be responsible for ensuring effective maintenance of project vehicles. The drivers will also assist the admin support unit in arranging logistics during events such as workshops, conferences, etc. 

REPORTING LINES:

Post holder reports to: Security, Procurement/Logistics /Admin Officer Staff reporting to this post: None

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: None although this might change

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the project team to locations or sites where project activities take place;
  • Ensure that all project vehicles are driven with care, caution and safety;
  • Inform the project management when project vehicles are due for service or need major maintenance or repairs;
  • Assist in arranging logistics during project events; and
  • Any other related duties that may be delegated.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of Senior School Certificate; Possession of valid driver’s license  and at least 3 years driving experience in a reputable organization;
  • Knowledge of Hausa (spoken) is a plus.
  • Fair level of oral and written communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal communication, teamwork, and partnering skills
