POSITION : Deputy Director, Works
Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Director of Works is the Deputy Chief Technical Officer of the University and responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day running and maintenance of University buildings, roads, water boreholes, electrical installations, vehicle maintenance, equipment and other properties, including provision of services and utilities for the well-being of the University.
Qualifications
Candidates for the post of Deputy Director of Works must possess a good honours degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building or other related disciplines plus at least sixteen (16) years cognate experience, preferably in a University or in a top Management position in any appropriate large organization.
Possession of a Master’s degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
In addition, candidates must be fully registered member of relevant professional and statutory bodies such as Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and COREN (for Engineers), CORBON and NIOB (for Builders) etc. Othe ralevations in the profession will be an advantage.
Prospective candidates must demonstrate competence through experience, strategy e.t.c to maintain a high level of discipline, prompt and adequate response system, prudence and strong accountability in the Works Department.
Prospective candidate will be expected to discuss a plan for proactive maintenance culture for the University during the interview,
Prospective candidates must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer aided designs and controls.
