JOB TITLE : ASSISTANT MANAGER LEGAL

JOB LOCATION : SOKOTO

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc (CCNN) is a public company engaged in the manufacture and sale of Portland cement. Its factory is located at Kalambaina Road, on the outskirts of Sokoto town. An opening exists for an experienced and qualified candidate to fill-in a position in our Legal Department.

QUALIFICATION :

•  First degree in Law (LLB, B.L)
•  Minimum of Six (6) years post call experience preferably in the areas of corporate practice duties

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reporting to the MD/CE
• Offer legal advice and liaise with the external solicitors
• Drafting and vetting of legal documents
• Ensuring that corporate disclosures are completed and dissemination of regulatory news to the stock market
• Work with company secretary and others departmental directors to ensure that regulatory reporting is correct and does not lead to errors resulting in offences under various acts
• Ensure compliance with statutory filling requirements
• Arrange and manage the process of calling and holding annual general or special meetings

SKILLS:

•  Good knowledge of the legal framework (corporate and commercial law)
•  Adequate relationship management and networking skills
•  Ability to exhibit confidentiality in information handling
•  Proven integrity and sound ethics.
•  Sufficient attention to details
•  Well developed interpersonal skills
•  Excellent business writing and communication skills
•  Proficiency in Micrsoft Office Suites
•  Fluent in Hausa Language
