JOB DESCRIPTION
International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967govemed, by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture, We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following positions at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeping of bank book records and statements of accounts of Suppliers
Initiating letters of fund transfer, give notice of remittance of fund transfer to payees and respond to enquiries of fund transfer and payments
Assist in the reconciliation of accounts from IITA Limited (UK), collate foreign suppliers’ cheques and mailing through IITA Limited
Responding Internal/External Auditors’ queries on payment to suppliers
Handling of Oracle AP and GL responsibilities and carry out data entries activities
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION:

National Diploma in Accounting or Intermediate ICAN certificate plus minimum of four (4) years accounting working experience in a well structured organization.
Be a good team player:
Have very good communication skills:
Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel.
Be honest, trustworthy, hardworking and be able to perform under pressure.

SKILLS:

Hands-on knowledge of Grade Financial Applications.
Possession of typing skill and ability to enter data are added advantages.
