Security Guard Needed at The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is a non-profit organization. IITA works on the following crops: cowpea, soybean, banana/plantain, yam, cassava, and maize.

POSITION : Security Guard

Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Assist in protecting IITA’s research farm
  • Assist in preventing cattle herdsman incursion into the farm and raise alarm to the presence of intruder;
  • Assist in apprehending herdsman/violators where possible;
  • Assist in reporting unauthorized entry into the farm to the management;
  • Assist in reporting fire incidents to the Farm Manager/Station Administrator;
  • Perform any other function as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification

  • O’level plus valid driver’s license (Class E) with at least Three (3) years relevant experience performing same role..

Ideal Candidate must:

  • Have the ability to offer adequate security services to the farm and be ready to live in that environment/community.
  • Have considerable knowledge of the location so as to identify/ recognize possible trespassers.
