POSITION : Head of Engineering/Technical Services

 Description

Required to ensure the success of the technical services thrust of the company at all times. He/She is expected to be a leader, problem solver, innovative and attentive to details.

Thorough knowledge of equipment and tools, highly customer centric and service oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and update a database of installed equipment
  • Set process and procedures for callouts, maintenance and installation as well standard operating procedures
  • Formulate frequently asked questions (FAQs) for all installed equipment
  • Set up and drive capacity building initiatives in the department
  • Actively engage in maintenance contract Sales drive
  • Complete oversight of the Engineering department
  • Set up and manage maintenance contracts as well as planned preventive maintenance for installed equipment
  • Create a structure that delivers prompt response and solutions
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints within set times
  • Oversight of manpower planning for the department
  • To run the department in a financial and cost efficient manner in line with approved budget.
  • Create and maintain a proper library for the Engineering Department with relevant drawings, copies of software and technical data on all equipment
  • Set up and manage a standard engineering workshop

Expectations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 8 years experience in a Senior Engineering Role.
  •   5 years in a Managerial role within an Engineering department.
  • A Business School degree is a must (MBA etc)
  • Thorough understanding of Medical devices is a key advantage.
