ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Meet with business entity’s representatives, systems owners, and end users to gather business, financial, operations requirements and systems goals; to identify and resolve systems issues;
• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems;
• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid business entities in making project decisions;
• Create and maintain an IT project plan that communicates tasks, milestones;
• Performs administrative and work necessary to manage the server infrastructure;
• Plans upgrade/implementation schedules on a weekly basis in response to long term projects and short term high priority projects;
• Perform testing activities to ensure developed solution meets documented requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify issues;
• Prepare and deliver reports or alternatives that address existing and potential issues in IT systems or processes across the business entity;
• Perform change management activities e.g. user sensitization on all technology implementation to ensure sustainability of implemented solutions;
• Manages enterprise operating system, virtualized environment which include Windows servers, Hyper-V, VMware Esx host and domain systems;
• Hands-on experience in setting up, configuring and managing Windows Sever 2008 and Exchange Server 2010;
• Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating system management; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor research questions using available information resources and stay current with system information, changes and updates;
• Liaise with OEMs, Service providers or any other third party vendor;
• Plan IT service continuity / disaster recovery for critical systems services administer and support the Active Directory Servers;
• Use system monitoring tools to proactively manage the servers and storage. Perform repairs timely and in the most cost effective manner;
• Perform backup of application databases and servers (email backup, file server backup);
• Ensure adequate system documentation;
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the IT manager.
EDUCATION:
• A University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field.
• Professional Accreditation (CCNP/CCIE/MCITP/VCP/IITIL)

WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 4 - 7 years’ experience in IT Networking & Admin functions, preferably in the downstream Oil & Gas sector.
