POSITION : Painter

Responsibilities

  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
  • Apply varnish and other finishes
  • Calculate costs and negotiate prices
  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
  • Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

Requirements

  • High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship
  • Good basic math skills
  • Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
  • Conscientious with great attention to detail
  • Proven experience as a painter
  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
  • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)

 

POSITION : Construction Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Spread adhesives on flooring to prep for tile.
  • Build scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
  • Cut timber and lumber to specified dimensions.
  • Hold timbers, lumber, and paneling in place for fastening or cutting.
  • Drill holes in lumber.
  • Gather materials for workers to handle on job sites.
  • Keep job sites clean and machines serviced.
  • Cover services with plastic material to protect them.
  • Cut and install insulation.
  • Cut and fit tile or linoleum.
  • Hold plumb bobs, sighting rods, and other equipment, to aid in establishing reference points and lines.
  • Assist in the layout of foundation, building lines and anchor bolts.
  • Set hollow metal doors and frames.
  • Install toilets.
  • Install trim and cabinets.
  • Place and set slabs and sidewalks.
  • Unload materials from trucks.
  • Assist with slabs and elevated structures.
  • Frame wood.
  • Establish reference points and lines.
  • Coordinate and ensure all projects are completed on time.

Qualifications

  • Be able to effectively communicate with both customers and fellow employees
  • Persist at difficult tasks despite unexpected obstacles
  • Demonstrate conscientiousness and dependability to produce results
  • Able to travel overnight when need.
  • 1 year of experience
  • Drilling Experience preferred

 

POSITION : Commercial Construction Assistant

Description

A Construction Assistant is an entry level support position in operations.

This administrative position will help with a myriad of tasks to assist project managers to successfully complete projects and assignments.

This includes, but is not limited to, organizing project documentation, preparing meeting packages and pricing packages, information distribution with subs and project team members, and operation and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Required to communicate daily with the Project Management staff, subcontractors, vendors and clients
  • Ensure effective communication, consistent quality of work products, and timely delivery of documentation is required.
  • Communication must be clear, concise, and professional with style tailored appropriately to the audience.
  • Reports directly to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited University is preferred.
  • Experience with a professional organization with a proven track record of accountability, professionalism, and organization skills is preferred
  • Software proficiency - able to adapt to and learn how to use sector, project and specific software systems.

POSITION : Master Electrician

Responsibilities

  • Plans electrical systems additions or modifications on secondary circuits. Works on secondary electrical systems that are 1000 volts and below.
  • Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Leads, guides, and/or trains other electricians in applicable procedures and techniques.
  • Repairs and maintains motor control centers and programmable logic controls (1000 volt and below).
  • Plans electrical secondary system additions or modifications.
  • May perform work of lower level electricians.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Reads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedules.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure Electrical Journeyman License (EE98J); a second related Journeyman's License; or Equivalent military experience or Completion of 60 Credit Hours Electrical.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Others

  • Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
