Effect periodic spot checking on the accounts department and other departments;
Enforce general audit requirements including the collection of all necessary information and explanations;
Ensure that the board and management decisions and policies especially as regards finance are strictly adhered to;
Review the means of safeguarding assets from various types
losses such as those resulting from theft, fire, unauthorised usage as appropriate and verifying the existence of such assets;
Review operations or programmes to ascertain whether or not resultsare consistent with established goals and objectives;
carry out any special investigations as they arise including forensic investigations with support of the Head, Internal Control & Audit;
Conduct a regular internal audit of all the departments of the Regional Office;
Carry out regular review of statutory requirements for compliance;
Properly scrutinize all payment vouchers and all other payment instruments;
Check all retirements submitted by staff and outsiders;
Regularly review all bank statements and bank reconciliation statements with a view to identifying hidden and excess charges and ensuring the adoption of verified outstanding entries;
Verify all staff claims;
Conduct periodic supervision of stocktaking/valuation;
Qualification
A Degree or HND holder in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines;
5 years practical experience in Audit and Internal Control
Membership of ICAN or ANAN
Competencies:
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Good planning and organisational stdlls;
Knowledge of audit and assurance processes in a similar organisation;
Person Specification:
A logical thinker who pays attention to detail;
Able to work under pressure to respond to service needs.
Self-motivated and able to influence and motivate others;
Willingness to work at odd hours or put in extra hours;
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills;
Excel lent time management skills;
Candidate must be between the age of 30-40 years
