RS Hunter Limited is recruiting to fill the following vacant positions:
Job Title: Ground Services Operations
Location: Lagos
Job Purpose
- The GSO role is to provide excellent service and support to Clients as per Company Mission Statement.
- To achieve the objectives of this role, the GSO will be expected to:
- Understand and comply with the requirements published in the Standard Operating Procedures;
Responsibilities:
The GSO will attend to the following duties (but not be limited to) to ensure that the Company’s goal and mission is achieved:
Apron and Passenger Safety:
- To lead and champion the delivery of excellent apron practices;
- To direct apron safety planning and identify skill gaps for personnel;
- Carry baggage to and from aircraft when loading or unloading aircraft;
- To proactively communicate all relevant safety and operational procedures to all third parties and in-house managers;
- Escort passengers to and from aircraft when embarking or disembarking aircraft;
Ground Handling Services:
- Coordinate with the on-duty Dispatch Officer to obtain flight details and activate and implement arrival or departure procedures;
- Present the Captain the Ground Handling Services Sheet to fill in requests
- Provide lavatory, aircraft portable water refill, aircraft washing and cleaning as requested
- Act as a guide (wing walker) to tow tug operators and ensure all sufficient services including two wing walking staff are in position during towing;
- Supervise and marshal safe arrival of aircraft on to apron parking using approved marshaling signals
- Conduct aircraft marshaling in a safe and efficient manner as laid down in the operations manual
- Provide services such as chocking, baggage handling and passenger handling as required
- Ensure all visitors to the hanger, apron and airside are properly identified
- Ensure hi-visibility vests are worn where necessary especially on the Apron
Management Accountabilities (Operational and Health and Safety Measures):
- Supervision and control of contractors and third party company staff
- Record all aircraft arrivals and departures on the company apron
- Monitor all Jet A-1 Fueling activities on the Apron and record the dates, times, aircraft registrations, fuel provider and amounts of fuel dispensed
- Ensure all accidents and incidences are logged and reported to the management
- Record all maintenance activities that take place on the company apron or in the hangar using the Maintenance Reporting Sheet.
Requirements:
- B.Sc/HND in any related field
- 2-3 years experience in aviation (Ground Services)
