Job Title: Junior Project Manager for Laboratory/Epidemiological Surveillance

Location: Abuja
Project Period: Summer 2018 - July 2021
Duration of Assignment: 36 months

About the Project

  • We are to provide consulting services to Support the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) with the Establishment of a Regional Epidemiological Surveillance System.
  • The junior project manager will assist the Team Leader (who's based in Bobo Dioulasso). with the Support of WAHO and RCDC with the development of the laboratory network Cote d’Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and the regional epidemiological surveillance system.
  • The overarching goal is to improve protection of the population of the ECOWAS region against epidemic diseases through support of the development and strengthening of a functioning epidemiological surveillance system in the ECOWAS region.
  • Out of the 15 ECOWAS countries, the project focuses on strengthening laboratory capacities and infrastructures in Burkina Faso, host country of WAHO, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger and Nigeria, host country of the Regional Centre of Disease Control (RCDC). These countries have been identified and selected by WAHO.

Qualifications Required

  • At least a Master's Degree (university or equivalent institution or a recognised professional qualification) in Public Health or Health Sciences or any relevant field.
  • Language skills: French and English.
  • General experience: At least 5 years in international health-related projects.
  • Specific experience: Laboratory management and epidemiology.
