Malaria Consortium (www.malariaconsortium.org) is one of the worlds leading non-profit organisations which is dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with communities, Government and non-Governmental agencies, academic institutions, local and international organisations; to ensure good evidence supports delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning.

The organisation has been operational in Nigeria since 2008 and recently opened a country office in Nigeria to fully establish itself with long term commitment.

Malaria Consortium now seeks to recruit professionals in its newly established Country Office and new projects / programmes in Nigeria.

Job Title: Account Officer (General Ledger)

Duties

  • The Accounts Officer will provide accounting services for the MC Country office ledgers in accordance with the financial procedures.
  • The officer will be responsible for posting all advances to partners ledger and ensure settlement of advances in liaison with the Accounts Officers Bank and Cash;
  • Post all supplier invoices to purchase ledger;
  • Follow-up on stock balance of financial documents, et cetera.


Qualifications
Candidates should possess the following:

  •     A Bachelors degree or HND in Accounting with a minimum of three years experience in a finance team.
  •     Previous knowledge of NGO donors and their financial reporting requirements is essential for this position.
  •     Excellent working knowledge of computers as well as accounting soft wares is required.
