The Federal Polytechnic, Bali is a new Polytechnic located in Bali town of Bali Local Government area of Taraba State, The Polytechnic was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2007 to improve the quality of Training of Nigerian youths particularly in the areas of Technology, Applied Sciences. Commerce and Management and in such other fields of applied learning relevant for the middle and higher level manpower needs of the Nigerian economy. The Polytechnic which started operations in 2009 has already commenced academic activities; it runs various programmes at the National Diploma and Certificate Levels.
Position: Rector
The Rector shall be the Chief Executive of the Polytechnic and shall be charged with general responsibility for matters relating to the day-to-day management and operations of the Polytechnic.
He is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting officer and has powers to exercise general authority over staff and students, and is also responsible for discipline in the Polytechnic subject to the general control of the Governing Council.
Requirements for the Post
An applicant for the post of Rector should:
At least be a Chief Lecturer with a minimum of five years experience on that rank from the Polytechnic Education system with a Ph.D from a recognized University
Exhibit evidence of strong academic and Administrative leadership,
Show evidence of membership of reputable professional body(ies).
Produce evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals as well as evidence of presentations at educational conferences, seminars and/or workshops,
Produce evidence of Funds/Research Grants attracted to the Polytechnic.
Be proficient in ICT
Provide report of medical fitness (from a Government Hospital)
The successful candidate must not be more than 55 years at the time of assumption of duty,
Terms of Appointment/Conditions of Service:
The appointment is for a term of four (4) years in the first instance and renewable (subject to satisfactory performance) for another term of four (4) years and no more The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits as may be approved by the federal Government from time to time:
