WTS Energy is recruiting to fill the vacant position of:

Job Tittle: HSE  Coordinator

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities:

  • The HSE Coordinator will provide project management team with continuous advice and support to ensure that HSE remains an integral part of their focus and equal in priority to operations and profitability.
  • He/She will be a role model in the application of all HSE policies and standards
  • Ensures Line Management maintains ownership of all HSE related reviews and processes.
  • Supports line management to define, implement, and monitor HSE Specific KPIs.
  • Visit field operations regularly and issue reports of his/her findings and corrective actions agreed with field supervisors.
  • Supports the development, maintenance, implementation and improvement of the Project QHSE Management System and the Project HSE Plan.
  •  Assesses project specific HSE risks and defines the HSE plans, standards, procedures, metrics and accountability systems required. Tracks compliance to ensure minimization of risk to ALARP.
  • Defines and records Project HSE objectives and metrics in line with the overall goals of the segment.
  • Develops and maintains Managers awareness and ensures that HSE is an integral part of Line Management responsibilities and objectives. Advises Management on HSE communication, visibility and corrective action required.

    Safety specific:

  • Prepare bridging documents between Company, Contractor and Contractors Sub-Contractors (rigs) HSE standards.
  • Check lifting equipment certifications, test the ERP, perform safety audits at the rig sites, make lessons learned, distribute alerts, lead job safety meetings, run out safety campaigns for fingers, lifting, stepping, handling, Health and environment, prepare safety records, develop and implement safety award program, lead weekly safety meetings.

    Environmental specific:

  • Prepare environmental waste management plan and lead its execution, environmental impact study of the contractors generated waste, audits on well locations for cleanness and spills, test spill prevention plan, comply with local environmental regulations and keep project team updated.

    Quality specific:

  • Prepare Service Quality plan for operations, prepare and execution audits to check readiness and compliance of specifications, have weekly SQ meetings, distribute lessons learned, alerts, make rig visits, check equipment.
  •  Provides planning, coordination, communication and active and visible support and delivery assurance for the HSE Systems including status, results, follow-up, and actions.
  •     Ensures that all required audits, self-assessments and inspections are carried out and that relevant remedial work plans are developed with effective closure.
  •     Monitors and analyzes HSE leading indicators, results, trends and performance indicators; ensuring remedial work plans address negative trends.
  •     Performs quarterly project HSE performance reviews including main contractors and company segments.
  •     Monitors Compliance, Performance and Trends, encompassing systematic audits, verifications and assessment programs.
  •     Ensures HSE reporting is consistent with the requirements of OFS-QHSE Standard
  •     Ensures effective HSE Investigations are conducted, including, but not limited to, root cause identification, remedial work plan (RWP) development and effective closure.
  •     Organizes regular project HSE performance reviews with the client.
  •     Ensures that HSE risks introduced by the company and third parties are managed and that the performance of these organizations is monitored and reviewed.


Qualification:

  •     Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  •     Good organizational as well as verbal and written communications skills.
  •     For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals only.
  •    Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 8 years spent in a similar role in an oil and gas operating or servicing company
  •     Relevant Safety courses and training are required
