Job Description
This position reporting to Cluster Country Manager, West Africa will:

  • Be responsible for expansion and acceleration of Visa’s business in designated markets and client portfolios.
  • Promote and sell Visa products and services to designated clients and emerging markets.
  • Build clear strategies to stimulate growth and grow share of Visa business within client portfolios.
  • Achieve P&L and portfolio targets.
  • Manage the account planning process and deliver accurate sales and revenue forecasts.
  • Drive new business and revenue growth opportunities.
  • Be responsible for leading Visa’s engagement with a portfolio of key clients and markets.
  • Build a client and market strategy aligned to Visa West Africa market plan and the client’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop, implement and manage Visa's strategies with the clients to profitably grow the business in Consumer, Commercial and Digital.
  • Deepen client engagement at the senior leadership level to drive new business opportunities and actively demonstrate Visa as the best partner for business growth.
  • Broaden Visa’s relationship with client stakeholders in functions beyond the Cards business.
  • Increase penetration of Visa products and solutions with the clients.
  • Understand the payment landscape of the West Africa Region and keep abreast of industry trends.
  • Support the Cluster Country Manager and Head of Sales to implement Country strategies and achieve business goals.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Products, Marketing, Government Relations, Risk, Operations, Finance, etc, to orchestrate the collective effort to optimize the effectiveness of Visa solutions to the clients.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Increased penetration of Visa products and solutions with the clients.
  • Increased Visa share with the client.
  • Increased level of engagement with client’s senior management resulting in higher NPS scores and preference for Visa.
  • Achieved P&L and portfolio growth targets.
  • Forecast accuracy including management of incentives.
  • Understanding of the industry trends.
  • Engagement with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
Professional:

  • Recognized Degree preferably in Business Management, Economics, Finance, MBA preferred
  • 8 - 12 years of proven sales or business development experience, with strong account management, project management and relationship management, business consultation experience from across the following vertical or functions: consumer banking, cards issuing, merchant acquiring.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Recognized degree preferably in Business Management, Economics, Finance, MBA preferred
  • Payments / Digital / Corporate Sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of payments systems and card industry
  • Digital mindset and adaptive leadership.
  • Strong account management and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong presentation, account management and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. product, sales, strategy, marketing) and cross-regional teams.
  • Deal negotiation, structuring, execution is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the card and payments business.
  • Strategic thinking combined with good business acumen.
  • Positive and result orientated team player.
  • Self-starter with a commitment to learn and a sense of curiosity.
  • Ability to navigate and work in ambiguous situations.
  • Comfortable with technology.

Work Type:

  • This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
  • Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
