We are recruiting a results-driven and goal-oriented individual to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hausa Editor

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full time

Responsibilities
As a Hausa Editor at Legit.ng, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring trending politics, human angle, entertainment stories e.t.c on social media platforms.
  • Writing and publishing 8 Hausa news articles in line with our in-house style guide.
  • Conducting exclusive interviews and crafting special format articles such as features, analyses, fact-checks, and more.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Diploma / Degree in Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field (additional qualifications in Hausa language and literature will be an advantage).
  • Significant experience in journalism and Hausa writing.
  • Exceptional writing skills, including storytelling and grammar.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to monitor news effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Access to a good internet connection and a laptop (minimum Intel Core i3).
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms effectively.
