Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS), trading as Etisalat, is a Nigerian company duly incorporated under the laws of Nigeria in partnership with Mubadala Development Company and Etisalat of the United Arab Emirates. Incorporated in Nigeria as a private company, it acquired the Unified Access License from the Federal Government in January 2007. The license includes a mobile license and spectrum in the GSM 1800 and 900 MHz bands. Etisalat acquired a 40% stake in EMTS and is now the operator of the Unified Access License.

Job Title: Engineer.Base Station Subsystem

Job Summary             

  • Support BTS site implementation and rollout activities in assigned region   

       
Principal Functions       

  • Ensure end-to-end deployment of target BSS sites
  • Conduct technical site surveys of new and existing BSS sites in line with the deployment process
  • Supervise installation teams in conducting feeder and antenna live verification tests (VSWR, DTF)
  • Deliver continuous progress reports on all assigned network site rollout activities for the attention of the Manager-Regional Rollout
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager-Regional Rollout
  • Conduct acceptance testing of BSS site activities
  • Ensure that all Safety Health and Environment (SHE) requirements are adhered to by contractors and vendors
  • Co-ordinate all assigned BSS site construction activities from start-up to commissioning/ acceptance

       
Educational Requirements       

  • First degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
  • Relevant professional qualifications/ certifications will provide an advantage
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Good reporting and documentation skills
  • Experience,Skills & Competencies       
  • At least two (2) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience
  • Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:
  • Excellent communication skills
