Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS), trading as Etisalat, is a Nigerian company duly incorporated under the laws of Nigeria in partnership with Mubadala Development Company and Etisalat of the United Arab Emirates. Incorporated in Nigeria as a private company, it acquired the Unified Access License from the Federal Government in January 2007. The license includes a mobile license and spectrum in the GSM 1800 and 900 MHz bands. Etisalat acquired a 40% stake in EMTS and is now the operator of the Unified Access License.

Job Title: Engineer.3G Quality of Experience(QOE)

Job Summary       
 
Monitor, analyze and operate the 3G and Data Quality of Experience (QoE) systems and tools on the network in order to improve subscribers network performance experience
       
Principal Functions       
       

  • Operate and monitor data QoE tool
  • Analyze subscribers KPIs on the data QoE system
  • Deploy QoE software on subscribers mobile terminals for data monitoring
  • Audit 3G data performance related parameters on scheduled bases
  • Monitor and report trends in 3G data KPIs and traffic
  • Create and maintain a 3G data customer complaints tracker and follow up on all opened cases until resolution
  • Study and propose ways of improving QoE for 3G data subscribers in light of QoS indicators and tools output
  • Monitor behavior of key 3G services data, voice, video and multi RAB offered by Etisalat Nigeria and ensure best QoE is maintained
  • Prepare periodic reports on subscribers data-related QoE activities
  • Escalate to relevant functions to fix problems associated with the experience of subscribers on data
  • Correlate output of data QoE tool with vendors performance monitoring tools
  • Contribute to systems engineering drive for solutions to optimize QoE in congested network situations
  • Research, identify and propose solutions with regard to problems in current wireless, video and cloud technologies
  • Maintain systems to measure performance against established QoE standards
  • Follow up with Fault Management, NOC and BSSOP on data performance related alarms to achieve resolution

       
Educational Requirements       

  • Bachelors degree or HND in Electrical/ Electronics/ Communications and/ or Computer Engineering

       
Experience,Skills & Competencies       

  • At least two (2) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience in network QoS within a telecoms business environment
  • Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:
    • Good problems solving skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office  Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Good understanding of 2G and 3G technologies
    • Good communication and reporting skills
