We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter

Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

To ensure the kitchen areas are kept clean and tidy
Supporting the chefs during service, cleaning and returning essential cooking equipment
Working with theteam to ensure a quick and clean turnaround of washing up
Taking responsibility for emptying bins and recycling, including looking after the main bin area
Cleaning down after service and ensuring all surfaces and floors are spotless
Making sure outside areas are clean, tidy and swept, free of cigarettes and rubbish and perfect for guests
Assisting chefs with basic prep as neededAssist in food preparation and cooking under the direction of the kitchen staff
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients
Help with meal preparation and plating
Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Cleaning all dishes, work stations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients for subsequent use by the chef.
Sweeping and mopping floors, as required.
Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.
Storing ingredients according to prescribed food safety regulations.
Assisting with the monitoring of inventory.
Reporting all damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager.
Packaging customers' leftover food upon request.
Cleaning trash cans and disposing on a regular basis.

Requirements

Interested candidates should possess an OND qualification with 3-5 years experience.
Previous experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods
Familiarity with culinary terminology and equipment
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
