Combustion System Designer (Chemical or Mechanical Engineer) in a Startup Engineering Company

A Startup Engineering Company is seeking a Chemical or Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and test  a can type dry low NOx emission (of less than 20 PPM) combustion system that utilizes propane, cooking gas or natural gas.

 

Job Title: Combustion System Designer (Chemical or Mechanical Engineer)
Location: Remote
Job Description:

This is a contract based task with payments made as key milestones are met, these key milestones include a demonstration of understanding of concept, a basic demonstration of concept by designing and fabricating a simple combustor using locally sourced material (fabrication, modification and manufacturing will also be done locally), a final comprehensive qualitative design that meets international standards and more stringent combustor inlet and exit parameters.

Qualification:

  • BSc, MSc or PHD in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Very good understanding of:  Thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, principles of combustion.
  • CAD and simulation
  • Understanding of metallurgical properties of metals.
  • Strong mechanical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in combustion systems design, maintenance or testing is a plus.
  • Experience in design and manufacture is a plus.
