Job Title: Team Lead, Fibre Support
Location: Lagos
Reporting To: Transmission Bearer Services Manager
Job Description:
- To ensure that preventive maintenance and routine inspections of all fibre optics media routes are carried out.
- Oversee the preparation of optical infrastructure performance reports.
- Validate optical infrastructure deployment plans and coordinate the activities of the unit in planned works for network improvement.
- Manage stakeholders and ensure their issues as they relate to optical infrastructure management are promptly resolved.
- Supervise acceptance and testing of new fiber infrastructure and DWDM equipments.
- Conduct training on DWDM and fiber infrastructure to internal units.
- Oversee and coordinate all technical activities, activities of direct reports and ensure all transactions and administrative documentation is recorded and available for business use.
- Coordinate the activities of Fiber Support Engineers in order to achieve unit / departmental objectives.
- Supervise vendors’ performance and ensure compliance of contractors/vendor/third party to SLAs.
- Assist in providing high level support to internal customers on optical fiber issues.
- Coordinate the management and administration of NQMS Server, Remote Test Units and Software.
- Oversee preventive maintenance operations on optical fiber infrastructure network.
- Oversee the execution of special projects as may be required.
Job Conditions:
- Normal MTNN working conditions.
- May be required to work extended hours.
Required Skills:
- 3 years working experience on Fibre infrastructure maintenance
- Sound knowledge of Fibre transmission DWDM is essential
- Conversant with OTDR, Splicing Machines and various Fibre testing equipments
Qualification:
- First degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or its equivalent.
- Specialist certifications in Fibre transmission will be an added advantage.
