Job Description
WRS is a UK based consultancy working in the worldwide Oil & Gas, Power and Mining industries. We recruit for both permanent staff requirements and temporary to long term consultancy roles. We offer a specialist recruitment service working with specific candidates for specific requirements.
The client is a is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with a strategic focus on Africa, the Middle East and the North Sea.
The client is looking for an experienced drilling superintendent to work with their jack up and semi submersible operations. The successful candidate will manage the safe and efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells offshore Nigeria.
The successful candidate will supervise a jack-up rig tachieve the safe and efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells, in water depths between 19ft and 200ft, offshore Nigeria

Operational challenges:

High angle / extended reach drilling,
Casing cementations (long cement columns),
Drilling depleted reservoirs,
Use of splitter well-head technology,
Potential for deep leg penetrations (>150ft),
Third party staff, service and equipment quality,
Complex supply chain and logistics.
Interaction with other departments (engineering, production, logistics, etc.).

You will be expected to work a 28/28 day rotation on an initial contract of 1 year with the potential for renewal and relocation after the campaign has finished. Door to door travel days are paid with business class flights as standard.

Required Skills/Experience:

Minimum of10 years relevant experience, of which at least 3 in a similar position.
Extensive experience with Jack up operations with a major operator, knowledge of semi's and land rigs would be beneficial.
Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageous.

Required Qualifications:

Technical / engineering qualification preferred.
BOSIET offshore fire fighting and survival or equivalent, including HUET.
IWCF sub sea well control at supervisory level or equivalent.
