LAUTECH is a State-owned University (the Owner-States being Oyo and Osun). Founded on 23rd April, 1990, the University is a University of Technology operating the Faculty system and offering courses in seven (7) Faculties which include the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences and Clinical Sciences in the College of Health Sciences. The University also has a Postgraduate School.
Student population currently stands at about twenty-seven thousand (27,000) while the University has about two thousand, one hundred and five (2,105) on its staff list. The University is non-residential.
In the short period of a little above two decades of its existence, LAUTECH has been able to make its mark on the educational development of the country through its tenacious commitment to its vision and mission statements which drive its academic, physical and infrastructural development.
The Governing Council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, hereby announces the commencement of
the process of filling the vacant position of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, in accordance with the provisions of the Edict establishing the University.
We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Position: Vice-Chancellor
Job Location: Ogbomoso, Oyo
Qualifications
- The candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor is required to possess a good University education and should be a proven manager of
- human and material resources. Specifically, the candidate shall be expected to:
- Be a highly distinguished academic of the rank of Professor for at least ten (10) years with ability to provide academic leadership for such a growing Institution;
- Be a successful scholar who is well-rooted in the finest academic tradition;
- Possess high reputation nationally and internationally and be able to command the respect of the national and international academic communities through his/her track records;
- Provide administrative leadership to a group of well-informed and articulate local academic community;
- Possess the ability to create the much needed bridges between staff and students on one hand and between members of the University community and the host community on the other;
- Be a person with a clear vision for the development of first rate University Institution even under resource constraints; and
- Be someone who appreciates and acts on merit and who will not give in to undue pressure.
Remuneration
- The salary and conditions of service shall be similar to those attached to the post of Vice-Chancellor of a Federal Government-owned University in Nigeria.
Mode of Application

- Each application which should be duly signed and dated, is to be accompanied by thirty-five (35) copies of the Candidate's
- Curriculum Vitae; the Curriculum Vitae should contain the candidate's name in full, age, marital status, state, nationality, current contact address, GSM number and e-mail address, educational qualifications, professional, academic and other achievements and his own idea and vision of the University in the third millennium;
- In the case of each candidate identified by the University Search Team, the Curriculum Vitae must be accompanied by a letter of consent duly signed by the candidate;
- All shortlisted candidates, whether direct applicants or those identified by the Search Team constituted by the Governing Council for the purpose, will be required to make themselves available for interview at short notice with the Joint Committee of Council and Senate, and
- Each candidate must have three referees who can attest to his claims to high academic and managerial competence, as well as his moral uprightness.
