Role Summary/Purpose:

This role is a part of a team manufacturing equipment in a purpose-built factory in Calabar, Nigeria.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assembly and test of equipment ensuring policies and procedures are stringently adhered to prevent EHS issues which should be carried out in a timely manner as per the work order routings.
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times and general housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
  • Compile and record traceability record sheets.
  • An accurate and full handover to the appropriate person on the next shift.
  • Ensuring that area of work is maintained hazard free and tidy in accordance with 5S principles'.
  • Producing & updating relevant documentation on work.
  • Raising written EHS and Quality concerns.
  • Writing Safety Risk Assessments for jobs as and when required.
  • Producing quality goods within routing time constraints.
  • Active participation in continual Lean 6 Sigma improvements for safety and throughout.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Time served with C&G or Modern Apprenticeship with HNC. Alternatively NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Self-disciplined, proactive, cooperative manner with a capacity to work in a multi-product environment.
  • High level of HSE awareness with certification in slinging and lifting, pressure testing, manual handling and fork lift certificate. Requirement to write and adhere to Safety Risk Assessments for all aspects of the work.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings and follow Test Procedures documents.
  • Ability to work well on their own as well as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of machining operations and electrical soldering and not a necessity.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Fluent orally, reading and writing English language.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical discipline.
  • Pressure testing of assemblies.
  • Basic computer skills.
