Job Title: Workshop Superintendent
Location: Benin, Edo

Job Summary
- Assure high levels of Workshop proficiency and quality of work by Planning, Leading, Organizing and Supervising the day-to-day activities of Supervisors, Headmen, Technicians, Mechanics and Assistants.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise workshop staff and procedures
- Ensure efficient and effective utilization of workshop labor
- Ensure work is performed to set standards and current schedule of works
- Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair/service/breakdown job
- Follow up on parts ordered and plan work accordingly
- Ensure that the relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on time
- Notify the Workshop Manager of additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known
- Monitor tasks in progress in order to maintain acceptable time frames
- Manage overtime requirements
- Assist management with developing procedures to ensure workshop efficiency
- Conduct weekly toolbox talks with all departments in the workshop
- Carries out and performs all other work and/or instructions and/or requests as may be assigned from time to time
- Delegate workload to supervisors and headmen
- Daily, weekly and monthly reports
Quality Control:
- Oversee the inspection and diagnosis of vehicle/Equipment and communicate finding to the Workshop Manager
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on vehicles and equipment
- Ensure all work is carried out to set quality and standards and documentation is completed on time
- Ensure final check and test drive for all vehicles and equipment are carried prior to release
- Ensure warranties are properly followed up, monitored and documented
- Ensure re-works are properly followed up and documented
- Evaluate training requirement of technicians/mechanics and discuss/agree training needs with Workshop Manager
- Assist with on job training with technicians/mechanics
- Ensure all training is documented in a training register
- Provide coaching and mentoring of technicians/mechanics
- Ensure workshop equipment, materials and consumables are kept at an optimum level.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Current Diesel Mechanic / Engineer trade Certificate
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate others
- Sound judgment informed by extensive practical knowledge and experience
- Innovative and analytical, able to pre-empt and resolve problems with ease
- Work well under pressure
- Able to handle conflict and difference of opinion
- Knowledge and experience with servicing and repairing Light vehicles, Tractors, Lorry’s and Yellow equipment
- Sound knowledge of hydraulics
Remuneration
Salary: N250,000 monthly.
