Job Title: Technical Support Engineer - Completions

Responsibilities

  • The Project Engineer (PE) may be based in either the customer’s office or BHI location, or working between the two and is a member of the joint core management team for the project.
  • The PE will be the project engineering lead and his primary function would be to liaise with Company’s drilling, completion and production engineers, as well as procurement to ensure the project management flow process is executed in the manner intended.
  • The PE will be attending all meetings related to the project, working with the Company to insure that all technical data to perform the various aspects of the well engineering is completed.
  • The PE is a focal point for BHI’s communication with the customer, internally reports to the BHI Project Manager.
  • The PE role will encompass the full life cycle of managing project activities from early design and planning to final execution of the completions, ensuring any lessons learned and process/design improvements are fed back into the design.
  • The PE in conjunction with members of the Company Core Management Team will ensure the optimum completion is installed through best practice utilising the BHI Reliability, HSE, AMO and Operations systems and processes.
  • High level knowledge about technology and proper application of tools within three or more product lines in Completion Systems
  • Proficient knowledge of product line and proper application of tools
  • Thorough understanding of down hole hydraulics and rig operations
  • Proficient use of computer based programs related to application of products
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team of engineering support employees

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Oilfield relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years oilfield experience, 4 years minimum directly relevant experience in a Technical Support or Coordinator / Team Lead position responsible for Baker Hughes Completion Systems.
  • Exposure to Upper and Lower Completions and IPS installations.
  • Thorough understanding of down hole hydraulics and rig operations
  • Complete knowledge of forces affecting downhole completion tools and equipments.
  • Working knowledge assembling and installing downhole completion equipments
  • Thorough understanding of customer requirements in the oilfield environment
  • Thorough knowledge of completions design and applications.
  • Thorough understanding of completion systems cased and open hole and intelligent completion systems
  • High level knowledge about technology and proper application of tools within four or more product lines
  • Offer completion systems product performance support
  • Identifies new product opportunities
  • Develop strategies and apply to the execution of projects related to client’s contract or BH operations
  • Interfaces with product line management and local management to support direction and strategies to best capture market opportunities.
