Our client, a newly formed Operating Company (Joint Venture between International Oil company and Indigenous Operator) is recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Description
The responsibilities of Drilling Cost Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist to establish and maintain Project Cost Control procedures.
Assist to establish and maintain work breakdown structure (WBS), including AFE and cost centre numbers, to control and report costs at agreed levels.
Provide support to Project Engineers to establish and maintain up to date Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents.
Establish and maintain financial cash flows for the Project, in line with the agreed WBS.
To assist lead cost engineer to monitor actual versus planned expenditures and produce cost forecasts to provide timely notification of potential over/under runs.
To assist lead cost engineer to produce Monthly cost reports, giving planned, actual and forecast costs, for all elements of the Project, in line with the agreed WBS.
Produce other ad-hoc reports and presentations on cost data that may be required by the Project.
Coordinate all Project CAPEX and OPEX budget submissions.
Prepare and monitor accruals and ensure that they are correctly controlled against budgets.
Prepare and maintain log for contractor and vendor invoices and ensure that these are properly cost coded prior to approval by the responsible party.
Review & audit contractors' cost management procedures & reports.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry with a good understanding of Engineering.
Full membership of a relevant International Institution preferred.
Proficient in MS Access, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Broad, multi-discipline knowledge and experience of cost engineering for onshore Oil and Gas projects.
University Degree in an Engineering or Commercial subject.
An accounting experience/background will be an added advantage.
Local Nigerian candidates will be preferred.
