Michael Stevens Consulting - Our client, Applied Engineering Technology Initiatives, AETI, is an indigenous engineering consulting firm based in Lagos, with core competencies in Training, Recruitment & Outsourcing, Project consulting and management. Over the years, the company has established her presence in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power Industries.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Service Engineering Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time


  • We require competent and skilled engineering personnel to manage the whole value chain of the business; who will also oversee a maintenance team for deployment on client's request when an after-sales service is required.

Responsibilities & Skills Expected

  • Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
  • Develop maintenance strategies to help with installations and commissioning guidelines
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
  • Schedule the maintenance team to respond to equipment faults/ breakdowns
  • Diagnose faults/ repair equipment
  • Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
  • Carry our quality inspection on the jobs
  • Liaise with client department, customers and other engineering personnel
  • Managing stocks and supplies of equipment
  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
  • Shift and ‘on-call’ work may be required, since equipment is in continual 24-hour operation
  • Attend technical meetings and sellable presentations
  • Business skills, as may be required for managing budgets, leading a team and interfacing between AETI/OEM and the customers
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Team working skills to cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
  • Ability to negotiate with, and persuade others
  • Confidence to respond positively when under pressure
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations


  • A Degree or an equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of working experience in the power sector or power-related industries with job skills in Protection Control and Metering (PC&M) or Equipment Testing and Commissioning (ET&C) departments.
  • Membership or accreditation by a Professional Body (such as COREN, NSE, NEMSA, etc) will be an added advantage.
