The Women in Agriculture and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYE Foundation) is a non-governmental organization based in Jos, Plateau State. It was founded to promote the social and economic development of women and youth at sustainable levels. WAYE Foundation envisages a world where women and the youth are socially and economically empowered.
WAYE Foundation seeks to engage interested applicants to fill the following vacant position:
Job Title: Accountant
Job Location: Jos, Plateau State
Job Description
- The Accountant is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, analyzing, documenting and reporting the financial activities of the Foundation.
- He/She is responsible for budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
- Monitor program expenditures, monthly field expenses, including budget to actual expenses, and reporting on financial results and cost projections.
- Support the preparation of monthly reports for program activities in the field.
- Supervise the coordination of logistics, including transportation and lodging arrangements, for meetings, workshops, conferences, and short-term personnel.
- Oversee purchases of office supplies, as well s general office operations and maintenance where necessary.
- Monitors the performance of all contracts entered into for the provision of services, goods and works.
Minimum Qualification:
- A degree or its equivalent in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Should have at least 3-5 years work experience
- Experience and strong knowledge in managing NGO funds and operations would be an added advantage.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of applicable software for financial reporting.
- Knowledge of the use of computer, Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Independent judgment and discretion in completing assignments, seeking approval as appropriate reporting.
- Audit experience will be an added advantage
