Smart Partners Consulting Limited - A fast growing Shipping, Logistics and Freight forwarding company with offices across Nigeria requires the services of a Marine Superintendent.

Job Title: Marine Superintendent

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Ensuring company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
  • Liaising with Port Captain and Vessel Masters with reference to certifications, Safety Equipment and loose Gear
  • Schedule, plan, prepare, manage and supervise various ports operations
  • Assist with all marine auditing requirements, which includes auditing of a wide range of offshore vessels, such as MODU’s and DSV and other specialist vessels, and contractors’ management systems, ensuring full compliance with Company CMS
  • Act as Company Representative for work groups ensuring Company position on marine issues is put forward, and full briefing to management provided.
  • Assist with maintaining customer relationships with other departments as required..
  • Administer various marine engineering contracts, e.g. mooring equipment and ensuring availability of specialist marine engineering services to Company
  • Assist with the development and revision of marine procedures in compliance with the Company standards
  • Contribute to the technical evaluation and selection of contractors and ensure that technical Contractor selection is carried out in accordance with Company requirements and that safety assessment is a part of the selection process. Assists with annual Marine Contract Service Quality Meetings.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the Head of Deepwater Marine regarding Marine Operations and Vessels’ status.


Qualifications and Requirement

  • A good first degree from a reputable Nigeria University/Polytechnic or relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Some Maritime Experience Preferred.
  • Qualified Desk Officer
  • Onshore experience in project team
  • Knowledge of charter part’s and contractual clause
  • Must have a strong background as a Marine Superintendent with minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Must be familiar with vessel clearance procedures.
