A Manufacturing company located in the South-South region of Nigeria requires the services of suitably qualified candidates for immediate employment as stated below:
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Ref: DNL 002
Job Location: South-South
Responsibilities
- The Cost Accountant will report to the Financial Controller who is the Chief Financial Officer (CEO) of the Company;
- Responsible for monthly cost accounting close process:
- Analyze and reconcile monthly sub-ledger activity related to inventory;
- Maintain and update standard cost modules; Ensure timely process of product cost roll-up;
- Lead budgeting process for manufacturing;
- Provide strategy for setting intra-company transfer pricing;
- Perform. trending, variance and ad hoc financial analysis as required;
- Work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP and A), manufacturing and operations to resolve issues on cost and inventory;
- Compile product costs including direct labor, raw materials, and overhead on a semi-annual basis and sign off on final costing:
- Assist the accounting team with GL and other ad-hoc projects as needed;
- Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory process.
Qualification and Requirements
- B.Sc Accounting/HND Accountancy in addition to a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA etc);
- Must have experience working With accounting software;
- Six (6)years post qualification working experience in a reputable mmanufacturing company three of which must be in a Senior Financial.
Key Roles:
- Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts, practices, procedures and systems;
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization;
- Basic understanding of operations in the manufacturing industry:
- Ability to cope with and work under pressure.
