West African Ventures, an operating company of the Sea Trucks Group, was established in 2000 and is a 100% Nigerian company and a leading indigenous provider of offshore engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and vessel charter services.

With corporate headquarters in Lagos, marine support base and shipyard in Warri, dry-dock and fabrication facilities in Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone, WAV provides excellent offshore support services to the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector.

SeaTrucks Group is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager for its West African Ventures operation in Lagos, Nigeria. This concerns a full time position. The suitable candidate has a thorough background in offshore construction (in particular experience working in any of: flexible/umbilical’s, structures, rigid pipelay, mooring installation works) and in deep water projects.

Responsibilities

Providing supervision to a team of engineers and draftsmen;
Ensuring quality of engineering deliverables, including issues related to fit for purpose, safety, health, environment, security and cost;
Developing and preparing new equipment and vessels that suit the Company’s aspirations and objectives;
Reviewing workload and adjusting human resource capacity accordingly;
Management of engineering knowledge;
Ensuring that engineering staff is adequately skilled, experienced, trained and educated;
Allocation of engineering staff to tasks;
Ensuring optimal performance of engineering staff;
Engineering man-hour budget control;
Assisting Proposals Department in preparation of Proposal Documents;
Keeping abreast of innovative engineering developments;
Innovating and renewing engineering methods and solutions;
Motivation of engineering staff;
Control of engineering related documentation.

Requirements

MSc degree in Engineering or alternatively BSc degree with extensive experience in design and engineering;
Minimum of 15 years of experience in design and engineering, of which a minimum of 5 years in the offshore industry;
Management skills training;
Project management training;
Relevant offshore training;
Good practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and pipelay techniques;
Good knowledge of English language both written and spoken;
Capable to motivate and manage subordinates and colleagues.
