West African Ventures, an operating company of the Sea Trucks Group, was established in 2000 and is a 100% Nigerian company and a leading indigenous provider of offshore engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and vessel charter services.

With corporate headquarters in Lagos, marine support base and shipyard in Warri, dry-dock and fabrication facilities in Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone, WAV provides excellent offshore support services to the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector.

West African Ventures is recruiting to fill the following position:

Job Title: Lead CAD Engineer

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Ref.no: WAV/ENG/0002

Responsibilities

  • The Lead CAD Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.
  • The Lead CAD Engineer directs all CAD Engineers.
  • Implementation of company standard for drawings
  • Ensure quality of all drawings made at company engineering office
  • Ensuring all vessel and equipment drawings are up to date
  • Maintain and increase competence level of CAD engineers
  • Timely coordinate provision of drawings to projects
  • Allocation of CAD engineers to tasks
  • Communication and co-ordination of CAD engineers with other disciplines
  • Identification and reporting of technical areas of concern to Engineering manager
  • Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) as applicable

Authorised to:

  • Take decision to ensure that quality of all drawings is safeguarded
  • Check all drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Sign all drawings for CAD engineering approval

Requirements

  • Vocational Education Degree in Civil, Mechanical or an equivalent engineering discipline. Bachelor’s degree is advantageous
  • Strong drafting and offshore construction/installation experience
  • Relevant software training
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in CAD engineering, of which 5 years in offshore transportation and installation engineering
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD; other CAD design software skills are advantageous
  • Good proficiency of English language (both written and spoken)
  • Professional appearance
  • Good coaching/leadership skills
