Though separate and independent legal entities, the two firms work together to provide audit, tax, advisory and accounting services. WFO Professional Services LLP (Chartered Accountants) is a licensed firm of chartered accountants that provides audit, tax and advisory services. WFO Advisors Limited, a fast growing professional services company, provides accounting and business support services. Both firms are members of the WFO International, a growing network of independent firms.

WFO International - Our client is a Micro-finance bank looking for qualified candidate to fill the position of a Managing Director (CEO) in Lagos. The CEO will provide the strategic vision, planning and operational leadership of the bank. It is his/her responsibility to develop and implement strong unique strategies, make corporate decisions and manage the overall operations and resources of the Micro-Finance bank.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Managing Director (CEO)

Reports to: The board of Directors
Job Type: Permanent
Job Location: Lagos
Expected Start Date: 1 April, 2014

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Board to provide continuous strategic direction for the bank.
Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overall administration of the Micro-Finance Bank
Lead a team of heads of units in achieving set corporate goals and objectives
Undertake strategic and operational planning in collaboration with senior management and appropriate stakeholders
Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure to support performance objectives that reflect industry and market requirements
Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with government agencies, other organizations, industry representatives and other stakeholders
Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources
Provide strong and effective leadership to the work force; motivate and inspire employees
Ensure effective communication of the company's strategy, objectives and performance to create a positive corporate image
Report to the board on timely basis all relevant information regarding company operations
Drive business growth and performance improvement of the microfinance bank.

Qualifications and Requirements

High integrity, ethical standard, transparency and commitment to social mission of Micro-finance banking.
Evidence that the candidate possesses proven skills and competences in practical micro finance banking
Have undergone micro-finance certification program and obtained a certificate in Micro-finance Banking issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ClBN)
Strong business acumen and Knowledge of low income market
Minimum of at least 12 years post-qualification experience out of which at least 6 must be in the financial services industry
Must have at least 8 years working experience in a microfinance bank
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools
Excellent financial market knowledge and competitive awareness
Proven experience in trainings and research is an asset
Demonstrate skills in working with colleagues and collaborators of different cultural backgrounds
Must be between 35 - 56 years of age with proven management ability
Excellent analytical, written and presentational skills
Additional qualification such as MBA or Master's degree in any finance or business discipline may be an advantage.
