Nova Solar Power is recruiting to fill the vacant position of:
Job Title: Project Manager
Job Location: Abuja
Job Description:
The Project Manager, in charge of Land and Environmental and Social aspects, will be responsible for:
- In general, providing technical support in the execution of NSP’s land acquisition processes, in partnership with the State Governments
- Monitoring the execution of land acquisition processes and providing regular reporting to NOVA Power
- Participating in land identification and carrying out preliminary land surveys
- Supervising and challenging final / official land surveys to be carried out by third parties and providing regular reporting to NOVA Power
- Carrying out Preliminary Environmental and Social Impact Assessments & Geotechnical and Topographic studies (Pre-ESIA>) under guidance from NOVA Power
- Drafting Pre-ESIA> reports
- Supervising and challenging final ESIA> studies to be conducted by third parties and providing regular reporting to NOVA Power
- Compiling and filing, under supervision and assistance from NOVA Power, application dossiers for the securing of necessary land-related licenses, permits and consents, such as Environmental Certificates, Building Permits, etc.
- Being the principal operational interlocutor to Nigerian States Authorities, as well as at the FGN level related to the above mentioned licenses, permits and consents
- Monitoring interaction with these authorities and providing regular reporting to NOVA Power
- Participating in RFP processes conducted by NOVA Power for the selection of third party experts to be contracted for final / official land surveys as well as ESIA>
- Participating in Due Diligences processes conducted by investors and lenders
- During Construction and Operation stages, supervising and challenging the execution of Social and Environmental Plans as recommended by ESIA> experts
- Assigning, scheduling, reviewing, and monitoring projects works to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within budget
- Mentoring and providing expertise to other project team members
- Identifying, tracking, monitoring and communicating project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of projects
- Producing internal reports and participating in regular business reviews
- Participating in other activities of NSP as appropriate, such as market intelligence and industry networking.
Requirement
HND / Degree qualification required.
