Sahara Power, established in 2001, the company's core business lies in the acquisition, repair, maintenance and operation of power plants. Between 2001 and 2004, the company played an active role in the Emergency Power Projects embarked on by the then Nigerian Electric Power Authority (NEPA) presently known as the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

In 2006, the company partnered with a major international power company, Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), to enable it to provide a wider range of solutions to the entire power sector chain throughout the region. The resulting company KEPCO Energy Resource Ltd (KERL).

KERL is presently engineering a 1350MW Power Plant, to be installed in the Lagos area. The plant when built will consist of 3 - 450MW combined cycle power blocks.

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) is a division of Sahara Power Plc.

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) is one of the recently acquired Privately Owned Power Distribution Company’s in Nigeria.

Job Description
The breadth of our opportunities means that we are looking for recent graduates. We expect that you will have the highest level of integrity as well as be ambitious and highly creative.

Successful candidate depending on their choice of application will be trained in Power Generation or Electricity Distribution and will be part of the team to turn around the Power Sector in Nigeria

Role Statement

Knowledge/Skills:

Basic usage of Microsoft Office Suites
Basic Engineering drawing interpretation
Basic Project Management
Engineering Report writing skills

Minimum Qualification / Experience:

Relevant university/Polytechnic degree (B.Sc/B.Tech.) minimum 2nd class lower division/Lower Credit
Completed NYSC 0-2 years post-NYSC Engineering Experience

Must be hardworking and one who thinks “out of the box”
Must be a strong communicator with ability to connect with people at all levels
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial & dynamic environment
