VACANCY: Assistant Manager, Business Development

An organization specialized in industrial and commercial security services headquartered in Lagos state is in need of a Assistant Manager, Business Development (AMBD) who always has the mindset of putting the client's needs first, who insists on continuing to learn every day, who thrives in a highly collaborative work environment and who when presented with a challenge, does not quit until he/she finds a solution.
 
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the AMBD will be responsible for building market positions by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.


A. Essential Functions

Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.

Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

B. Education, Skills and Experience

Minimum educational qualification of a higher national diploma. Educated to Bachelor Degree or MBA level will be an advantage.

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.

Autonomous and result orientated, with a clear determination to succeed.

Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Capable of working effectively and productively with senior team members.

Ability to maintain strong ethical and professional values.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

The ability to operate in diverse cultural environments.

The ideal candidate should have Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Selling to Customer Needs, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Energy Level, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism
