Laboratory Attendant Needed at The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)  - We work with partners to enhance crop quality and productivity, reduce producer and consumer risks, and generate wealth from agriculture. IITA is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 in Nigeria and governed by a Board of Trustees. IITA works on the following crops: cowpea, soybean, banana/plantain, yam, cassava, and maize.

POSITION : Laboratory Attendant

Responsibilities

  • Assist in general cleaning of laboratory and screen house;
  • Assist in washing of glass wares;
  • Assist in autoclaving and carry out maintenance of laboratory equipment’s;
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations of the Biotechnology laboratory;
  • Assist with photography needs of the laboratory;
  • Perform any other function as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification

  • Good O’level certificate with at least Two (2) years relevant experience on laboratory cleanliness and maintenance.

Competencies

  • Be innovative, highly dedicated and have god interpersonal skill.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be able to work under minimal supervision.
