Foodcity is currently recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description 
Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Monitoring & controlling of entire accounting function as per accounting standards.
  • Manage bank accounts and bank relationships and compliance.
  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
  • Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.)
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
  • Formulate and monitor and ensure compliance of the budget.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
  • Lead the budgeting and planning process including long term strategic plans and annual operating plan.
  • Preparing & monitoring Cash Flow.
  • Execute monthly / periodic audits (internal, statutory, TAX ) and give directive to team.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place.
  • Ensure timely compliance of payments and returns of all statutory requirements like professional tax etc
  • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
  • Manage team of financial controllers and financial analysts.

Requirements

  • BSc / BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; MSc / MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as CFO, or finance officer in the Hospitality industry
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP, Tally, bridge)
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
