Pivot-GIS Limited, initially was a joint venture between PIVOT and GIS on a 50-50 basis. Grand Isle Shipyard (GIS) Inc. was founded in 1948 by Mr. Clyde Pregeant Snr., and currently has over 1,000 employees carrying out onshore construction, offshore maintenance & Brownfield activities in the Gulf of Mexico region, USA. PGIS is based in Galliano, Louisiana. PIVOT Engineering Company Limited (PECL) is a 100% Nigerian owned EPC (mechanical/electrical) contractor with annual turnover of more than N3-5Bn in the past three years. PECL was founded in 1988 and is a subsidiary of Honeywell Group, a Nigerian group of businesses owned by Mr. OBA AYOOLA OTUDEKO, OFR, FCA, FCIB, FCIS (Hons), D.Sc (Hons), and a past president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
At the moment, PGIS is a pure indigenous company with PECL having a 100% share capital and GIS Inc. of USA as its Technical Partners.
PGIS Limited still enjoys the support of our parent company/technical partners; Grand Isle Shipyard (GIS Inc.) in the US. GIS will proactively provide any additional equipment, personnel, and technical expertise requirement that will enable us to manage and supervise projects of any size.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions:
1. Job Title: Engineering OJT/Assessor - Quality Measurement Instruments (QMI)
Job Location: Bonny, Rivers
Job Purpose / Objective
Assess, train and develop the competence of engineering technicians to fulfil the requirements of the organisation’s Assessment and Progression Scheme 1 (A&P-1) through on-the-job training, coaching, assessment and feedback.
Main Accountabilities
- Provide day to day training and development for instrument technicians mainly in onsite facilities and in the workshop, providing demonstrations and instructions to the technicians to ensure full compliance with procedures, technical requirements and correct practice.
- Ensure tasks undertaken by the technicians are carried out in line with organisation’s HSSE standards and procedures and provide guidance
- Assist in A&P-1 development and periodic reviews to ensure the document is current at all times and in line with organisation’s standards
- Identify the assessment requirements related for A&P-1 competencies, carry out pre-assessment plan for each section and prepare assessment schedule in collaboration with the respective candidate and section supervisor
- Guide technicians on how to collect appropriate evidence, compile portfolios and present evidence during assessment
- Review and judge evidence against stated criteria, record assessment decisions and provide constructive feedback to the technicians, respective supervisors and Discipline Trainers
- Provide on the job training and development of technicians to achieve defined levels of competence
- Identify learning & development gaps that require Head of Technical Training intervention and liaise with Competence Assurance Coordinator and Discipline Trainer for implementation
- Formally record technicians’ performance, update A&P-1 portfolios and keep track of their progress
- Attend progress meetings under the A&P-1 scheme
- Contribute to the A&P-1 assurance processes and procedures in area of competence
- Accept other tasks relating to A&P-1 personal development that may be assigned occasionally
Job Requirements
Education
- HND or Bachelor’s in field of instrumentation
- Technical / Business Skills
- Minimum of A1 or D32-33 Assessor (TAQA Level 3). Level 3 Professional Training Qualification and V1 are advantages.
Interpersonal Skills
Good oral and written communication, interpersonal, leadership and mentoring skills
Competencies
- Knowledge on the industry and profession, HSSE requirements and regulations
- Skills in QMI and Fire & Gas detection systems
- Principles of fire and gas systems, fire and gas detection mapping, building fire detection alarm systems
- Quality Metering Instrumentation – Chromotography / analyzers, Flue gas/CO2 analysis, dew point, pH, analyzer house maintenance, validation methods, SPC/controls chart
- Custody Transfer & Metering – Flow measurement principles and instruments, validations, SPC
Experience
- Ten (10) years or more post-graduate experience in Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum seven (7) years in the Oil and Gas industry with emphasis on QMI systems, which must include experience in the training development and assessment of technicians.
2. Job Title: Engineering OJT/Assessor - Instrumentation Field and Systems
Job Location: Bonny, Rivers
Job Purpose / Objective
Assess, train and develop the competence of engineering technicians to fulfil the requirements of the organisation’s Assessment and Progression Scheme 1 (A&P-1) through on-the-job training, coaching, assessment and feedback.

Experience
- Ten (10) years or more post-graduate experience in Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum seven (7) years in the Oil and Gas industry with emphasis on field instrumentation and control systems, which must include experience in the training development and assessment of technicians.
3. Job Title: Planning Engineer, Shutdown Planner
Job Location: Bonny, Rivers
Job Purpose / Objective
- He is responsible for the accurate preparation and planning of all field IMSC activities.
- He ensures all Works are resourced for requirements (e.g. Services, Permits, Tools, Materials, Vendors, Procedures, Drawing, etc...) to ensure the Disciplines have all necessary items to execute each activity without delay.
- He ensures accurate and timely supply and return of Materials for use and subsequent repair with close liaison with onshore Methods team.
- He ensures an accurate planning function exists on the SITE.
- He ensures that maintenance operations are prepared in strict accordance with organisation’s current HSE rules and operating procedures and in accordance with standard industry practice.
Main Accountabilities
- Prepares on site the maintenance operations,
- Plans maintenance operation (routine and short-taking into account the available resources.)
- Anticipates, plans and requests the logistic means necessary for smooth maintenance operation, talking the various constraints into account when planning and carrying out operations
- Ensure that organisation’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to work permits) as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during preparation of maintenance operation placed under his responsibility
- Manages and mentor the resourcing technicians directly under his responsibility
- Take part in the daily weekly and co-ordination meeting on the SITE
- Co-ordinates, manage and update IMSC plans with organisation’s Planning Engineer,
- Ensures the accurate and timely closeout of all work Orders and ensures accurate and adequate history in the activity reports.
- Identifies, in the preparatory stage of maintenance works, any delicate and delicate operations and ensure that proper studies of risk involved are carried out beforehand
- Ensure all work (preventive or corrective) is accurately resourced and that all material and services are provided to the site and work location.
- Keep a critical eye on current maintenance schedules and programs and , if need be, suggest improvement,
- Warns support team of any recurring problem related to the availability or quality of IMSC resources to IMSC manager or Field Service Manager if this backlog threatens to become unmanageable,
- Develop and provide all short team planning for site activities
- Provides any ad-hoc report
- Mobilization and plan all IMSC activities as required include subcontracts or organisation’s OEM Vendors)
- Verifies the quality of his planning by frequent checks of supervisor reports,
- Ensures all work loadings per discipline are balanced and achievable and highlights immediately to organisation’s any workload which is unachievable with the resources provided on SITE.
- Coaches and ensures that the Resourcing Technicians within his team have the qualifications and skills required for the tasks entrusted to them and if need be, suggests corrective measures.
- Ensures all Work Orders and Notifications are assessed accurately at the Daily Co-ordination meeting and given the corrective prioritization. This prioritization applied should be respected in his planning and constant updates requested to ensure accuracy.
Job Requirements
Education
- Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Technical / Business Skills
- A good knowledge of Primavera 6, Microsoft Projects, PACER or Similar SAP packages
- A basic knowledge of the process of oil and gas treatment, installations and a thorough knowledge of the equipment used in oil and gas treatment installations.
Interpersonal Skills

5. Job Title: Engineering OJT/Assessor - Electrical
Job Location: Bonny, Rivers
Job Purpose / Objective
Assess, train and develop the competence of engineering technicians to fulfil the requirements of the organisation’s Assessment and Progression Scheme 1 (A&P-1) through on-the-job training, coaching, assessment and feedback.

- Senior Authorised Electrical person for at least three (3) years switching up to 33KV network.
