Team Leader (LE III)

General

The
UKBA Visa Services in Lagos has a vacancy for one LEIII Team Leader. Person Specification

The Visa operation in Nigeria is one of the UK’s largest overseas. Our team in West Africa is committed to providing a first class service. They are expected to be flexible, meet the demanding standards set by UKBA , and make fair and defensible decisions onVisa applications quickly whilst balancing the need for a high level of customer service with the requirement to maintain the integrity of the immigration control. We are at the forefront of innovation, always prepared to react positively to change and try new ways of working.

The advertised position is a pivotal role is ensuring effective administrative and logistic support to the Visa operation. It will include a significant supervisory capacity and may include face to face customer interaction, where the successful candidate will need to be a professional representative of the visa section at all times.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter with excellent English oral and written communication skills. The candidate will have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously; have strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people. Previous experience of managing a busy office or of staff management would also be beneficial.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing the post-decision units-Registry, Appeals and CCU
• Helping in all elements of the Visa Section operation, taking on a variety of administrative roles as required.
• Line Management of the LE IV staff members
• Typing and drafting correspondence independently
• To ensure that Line Managed staff comply with the codes of conduct and security requirements
• To monitor and further develop systems and procedures to meet business objectives and targets.
• To obtain and collate statistics on a daily and monthly basis.
• To ensure that specified management information data is collected analysed and delivered in the required format.
• To ensure that LE staff training and development needs are met
• To ensure that all appropriate desk notes are up to date

This is a full time position, from 7.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.30am – 12.30pm on Friday. The job will be graded LE III with a monthly starting salary of N238,620 including allowances. Successful candidates who are not liable to pay Nigerian tax will be subject to a 10 % notional tax deduction on the basic salary. The salary will be in Nigerian Naira and commensurate to experience and qualifications.
