Role Synopsis


At Baker Hughes the purpose of this position is to provide specialist support of maintenance activities on oilfield electro-mechanical equipment and/or surface instrumentation under supervision in accordance with controlled and documented procedures. This position will be required to complete a probationary period within the maintenance facility. Competent personnel provide a variety of technical duties supporting the quality and reliability initiatives whilst delivering to the operational and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Test, assemble, disassemble and perform visual inspection of electro-mechanical assemblies.

Assist in reworking, repairing and modifying non-conforming equipment.

Compliance with HS&E policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications
Technical diploma, Associates degree or minimum 2 years relevant industrial experience (airline, military, oilfield, automotive).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints and parts lists and follow formal procedures and maintenance practices.

Ability to read and understand the English language.

Basic skills in soldering and assembling of electro-mechanical devices.

Basic computer skills.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in the use of multimeters, megohmmeters, hi-pot testers and other basic instruments.

Strategic Operations Field Supervisor (Job Number: 1116395)

Role Synopsis

The role of the Strategic Wellbore Operation Team Field Supervisor is to rotate into various countries that has been assigned the Wellbore Intervention (WBI) Capital Equipment.

The schedule and the duration of these rotations will be defined by the Manager of the Operations and Technology Support – WBI with the agreement of the WBI Product Line Manager.

Apart from the role of running these WBI equipment, these personnel are also tasked with training, coaching, and mentoring less experienced/junior field personnel to run the job. During each job there will be at least 1 to 2 less experienced personnel shadowing the Field Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Ensures supplied equipment is compatible with all other equipment used for job
Provides front-line support with customer and accurately completes all paperwork prior to or upon completion of job.
Applies a commanding knowledge and seasoned experience to ensure the products and services are of the highest quality
Advises and troubleshoots on the most complex and critical issues in Wellbore Intervention and wellbore clean-up within the district
• Provide customers with the best solutions and techniques (proposals) for their projects
• Supervise and Support the Operations Team- Covering morning meeting in the customer’s office as needed, support the districts in searching for missing equipment and/or personnel, supporting the districts during up-coming and on-going operations
• Works in both an offshore environment as well as a land based environment
Conducts on-the-job training during each field visit
Assigned one to two field personnel to mentor during the duration in country
Conduct class-room training in country
Works for an extended period in different countries and have a flexible work schedule
Handles special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications
Two year Technical College degree preferred
10+ years experience as a Field Specialist – on and off shore experience
100% travel required – all work is performed away from home
Proficiency in speaking and writing in English
Must be able to meet minimum physical requirements for offshore work

Ability to communicate in ‘other’ languages is desirable
Preferably have a high mechanical and application proficiency in wellbore clean up equipment
Proficient in running most Fishing and Casing Exit applications as well as well bore cleanup applications
Expert mechanical and application proficiency with Wellbore Intervention products, specifically conventional fishing, whipstock and casing exit equipment
Expert knowledge of drilling and completion techniques and drilling/workover rig operations
Good knowledge of product application on land rigs as well as offshore rigs
Highly competent in training/mentoring less experienced / junior field personnel on the job
High competency in running warehouse tool awareness training
Ability to conduct/assist with in-class training
Ability to supervise the work conducted by the junior/ less experienced field personnel, evaluate and coach them
Good inter-personal skills
Ability to work and communicate well with others in a professional and courteous manner
