Job description Contracts Advisor
The responsibilities of Contracts Advisor will include but are not limited to the following,
* Provision of counselling services in respect of contractual matters.
* Review of high value contracts and tenders as may be expedient from time to time.
* Provision of hands-on support to the Manager, Contract on the review and updating of tender and contracts standards, checklists and general procedures, as may be expedient from time to time.
* Provision of strategic support in respect of internal and external negotiation meetings pertaining to high value tenders and contracts.
* Training and mentoring of CDA Staff especially in respect of commercial issues in Contracts.
* Preparation of Weekly Reports on assigned projects as may be expedient.
* Execution of any other assignment or project pertaining to tendering and contracting management as may be requested by the Manager, Contracts Dev. & Admin. Department
Requirements Contracts Advisor
* Possess a minimum of B.Sc degree in an Engineering, Business or equivalent commercial discipline.
* Membership of relevant professional institution will be an added advantage, but is not mandatory.
* Have a minimum of 25 years in an Oil Exploration and Gas Company, with a minimum of 20 years cognate experience in contract management/supervisory positions. Must have in-depth understanding of critical contractual and commercial considerations as it pertains to On-shore and off-shore drilling activities, EPCI, General Engineering and Marine related contracts.
* Be proficient in the use of MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Sun and/or SAP applications.
* Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to mentor, teach, motivate and inspire others.
* Be numerically literate and be able to demonstrate above average proficiency on the use of Microsoft excel.
* Be highly confidential and possess strong sense of integrity.
* Be an excellent team player, target driven and an organised self starter with high sense of responsibility, but must also have the ability to demonstrate patience and understanding.
Terms & Conditions Contracts Advisor
* Work Schedule: 6 weeks on 2 weeks off
* Initial 1 year contract (extension option)
* He/She will be reporting to the Contracts Manager
* For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy.
