JOB TITLE: M4P INTERVENTION MANAGER

THE ORGANISATION AND THE PROJECT

Coffey International Development is a global development consultancy focused on making a difference by improving the lives of world communities. We are the trusted advisers to many donor agencies, national governments, and private sector organisations around the world. We come from all over the globe, to create an organisation with approximately 1,400 people working in over 70 countries.
We are currently recruiting in Nigeria. Coffey is managing the Construction and Real Estate component of a major DFID / World Bank ‘Growth and Employment in States’ (GEMS) programme in Nigeria. This five year project is applying a market development (M4P) approach to create employment and income opportunities in the sector.The project began in Lagos last year and has already branched out to Abuja and is expected to start operations in Kano very soon. We will be expanding the team over the next few months and are seeking expressions of interest for a number of full-time positions on the project.

THE POSITIONS
We are looking to fill the following positions:
1. Two intervention managers, providing technical advice and implementation support to one of five outputs that the project will be working in: Procurement Intervention, Skills, Supply Value Chain, Advocacy and Business Development Service. The positions will be based in Ikeja, Lagos.
2. State Intervention Manager, who will coordinate the project’s activities in Kano.

Your key accountabilities will include:
Support to the conceptualisation and design of project interventions.
Overseeing and coordinating the implementation of project interventions.
Developing and maintaining close relationships with project partners.
Technical briefing to project consultants and quality control of consulting outputs.
Preparing regular reports on project progress for clients and project partners.

The Candidate
To be considered for this position you will have:
A post graduate level qualification in economics, private sector development, development studies or a related area, combined with proven experience in the application of the M4P approach.
At least five years’ experience of working in international development.
Excellent analytical capabilities, with an ability to think creatively and to communicate your ideas effectively with a team.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective relationships with a range of people representing client organisations, governments, agencies and other key stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal English is a requirement of the position.
The ideal candidate will have project management expertise, exposure to implementing technical assistance projects, an ability to bring together sector stakeholders and an understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation principles.
Candidates with experience in West Africa will be highly regarded.
Experience in the construction and real estate industry is not essential, but will be an added advantage.
The State Intervention Manager should be fluent in Hausa
