Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading international industrial Group to recruit a Planning Manager.

Job description

    - To coordinate the Planning Process of the Business Unit which includes analysis of historical performance and forecast
    - To Anchor Distribution Improvement projects which includes channel definition and improvements, depot productivity and Profitability and KPI setting for customer service measures.
    - To Establish Sales and Operations Planning Process for the BU to ensure synergy in departments operations
    - To fully embed Category Management in Group
    - To deliver significant year on year cost reductions net of inflation
    - To implement Business Policy and Procedures.

The Planning Manager will report to the Head of Supply Chain Division

The position is based in Lagos

Responsibilities

    - Define the production planning based on the sales needs; make sure that proper decisions on export volumes, transfers to terminal and grinding station, as well as the logistic and purchasing needs (for main raw materials) are taken;
    - Make sure that no stock out situations occurs as result of wrong planning, nor excess stocks.
    - Propose solutions for optimizing the plant output in line with customers/market demands
    - Give necessary support to the management in taking the related decision in anticipating problems linked to capacity and production needs.
    - Prepare the optimized planning for production, logistic, purchase, and communicate to all related department.
    - Manage the planning tool and ensure the link with IT and controlling department for related optimization.
    - Implement the part of supply chain strategy directly linked to planning in LCR.
    - Find, propose and implement solutions for cost reduction and service improvement, through the planning process. Manage projects links to general improvement of the planning activity within LCR.
    - Anticipate problems and work to mitigate risks linked to planning activities
    - Ensure the relate work with the export department in anticipating and defining the export planning.
    - Ensure the related support and information for logistic, purchasing and production departments.
    - Give necessary support (informations) to the OP responsible in taking the related decision linked to available amounts of products
    - Support Supply Chain Director in case studies and scenario for improvement solutions
    - Participate to budget and forecast exercises in coordination with controlling department.
    - Understand the general aspects linked to supply chain, and propose solutions for further optimization between planning and the others departments in supply chain

Qualifications and experience

    - Degree educated, in a commercially based Discipline
    - Highly experienced in a FMCG Purchasing environment.
    - Ability to display Strategic thinking and developing strategic options.
    - Excellent negotiation and communication skills with significant evidence of savings and value delivery.
    - Project Management skills and ability to track & drive through projects
    - Sound commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to the wider business process outside immediate role responsibilities.
    - Exceptional leadership skills to build and maintain a high performing team
    - Ability to work though X-Functional teams across multi sites.
    - Ability to engage and influence a wide range of senior stakeholders and be a change agent
    - Ability to negotiate Services and Supply Contracts effectively, manage outsourcing contracts strategically.
    - Ability to develop mental resilience in the face of barriers/obstacles
    - Work with X-Functional Teams across the BU
    - Effective Communication skills for disseminating relevant information to all stakeholders at the right time
    - Ability to present management position without difficulties
    - Good understanding of International Trade and INCOTERMS
    - Ability to contribute to the wider business process outside immediate
    - Accounting Competency for commercial negotiations and Cost Management
