JOB TITLE: PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGER- LOGISTICS AND SITE SERVICES

JOB LOCATION : LAGOS


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Procurement Function within GN is clearly recognised as being a key enabler for our Company to achieve its Mission to become the most celebrated business in Nigeria.
This role is responsible for developing and providing best-in-class Category strategies (Sourcing & Supplier management) across the entire Logistics & Site Services category. It also involves managing the sourcing process across all aspects of category management to successfully deliver our targeted business benefits of quality, service, value, innovation and brilliant execution.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  •  Brilliant execution of the Category and Supplier Performance Management process using key category management tools
  •  Promotes the effective and efficient use of company’s funds in the acquisition of goods and services through procurement of the right quality at the
  • right price on time and in full
  •  Implements key projects through effective project management, utilising appropriate e-procurement tools to maximise speed, efficiency and drive of benefits
  •  Prepares professional bid-templates and follow-up evaluation of prospective supplier’s tenders against service, quality and cost parameters
  •  Develops and implements relationship management strategies for key internal and external stakeholders
  •  Build team’s Procurement capability in all aspects of best-in-class Procurement skills – Strategy development, Contract management, Industry/Economic/Supplier Analysis, and Value chain mapping


QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  University Degree in an Engineering or Commercially biased-discipline
  •  Professional procurement qualification is desirable
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  •  Minimum of 7years relevant post-qualification experience
  •  Procurement experience in a multinational/blue chip company is essential
  •  Excellent knowledge of world-class Procurement systems, practices and associated tools
  •  Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent attention to details
  •  Excellent oral and written communications
  •  Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  •  Excellent presentation skills


CAPABILITIES

  •  Proven track record of delivery in challenging & complex business environments as well as previous experience of working in developing economies
  •  Good understanding of Nigerian Import/Export constraints, duties and taxation
  •  Good understanding of country-wide distribution channels, intermodal transportation links and major logistics service providers
